An Impact You

Can See

Veterans in Northern Michigan still need community support even after they return to civilian life. Their service to our country comes with a unique set of challenges as they navigate lost or reduced benefits, surprise medical bills, job loss and much more. Unfortunately, these unforeseen circumstances lead to financial burdens for local Veterans and their families. We help by connecting with Veterans and sourcing local businesses within our network to resolve Veterans needs. The best part is, we do it quickly!

Leverage Your Business to Do Good

Vets in Crisis started when its Veteran founders noticed that local Veterans are still grappling with the burdens of serving our country even after they have returned home. Veterans who have re-established themselves back into civilian life must navigate surprise medical expenses, loss of benefits, unexpected home repairs, hourly cutbacks, and more. Since 2016 we have helped rapidly eliminate the financial stress caused by those surprises by providing ‘hand-ups’ to Veterans in 14 counties throughout Northeastern Michigan. This way Veterans and their families can continue to move forward.

We are currently 100% volunteer as well as a 501(c)3 non-profit and we rely heavily on donations from members of the community, business sponsorships and partnerships with local providers for ‘In-Kind’ services. Donations help us fund crisis situations that can be anything from gas cards, dental work, transportation to appointments, paying over-due utility bills & rent and much more. Our generous network of ‘In-Kind’ service providers help by providing much needed work at a discounted rate.

Each Veteran’s situation is different and it is impossible to list all the ways we offer rapid response. We provide ‘hand-ups’ for a variety of needs, not just the few examples we mentioned. Here are a few more examples of support provided by VIC:

When wartime heroes return home, often times the transition back to civilian life can be emotional and financially burdensome. Veteran’s In Crisis, Inc. organized a golf tournament to raise money annually for these veterans who are struggling financially.  All of the proceeds from the annual golf tournament provide assistance to veterans in Northern Michigan.

How quickly does VIC provide assistance?2023-05-16T21:20:20-04:00

Veteran assistance does not have to take forever. By the time people come to us the need has reached urgent status and we understand how important it is not only to resolve the financial burden, but to ease uncertainty.
